What's on Offer

The phrase is often used, but what does "traditional meats" mean? Well for us it means meat that is produced from traditional breeds such as our herds of Red Ruby and South Devon cattle, our Tamworth pigs and native Downland sheep breeds.

It also means high welfare – farmed in the traditional method which allows animals to graze outdoor on pasture for the majority of the year. To allow them to behave and socialise as they would naturally choose to do, and to avoid any unnecessary stress.

Here's some specific details about our range of meats:

BEEF
All our beef comes from traditional Devon beef breeds; the South Devon and the Red Ruby Devon, which are considered some of the best of British beef breeds, producing a fine, marbled meat which gives great flavour and texture.

PORK
Our pork is produced from our Tamworth pigs. The Tamworth is an old British breed, producing pork with great flavour, and crackling just like it used to be. The Tamworth is now on the RSBT list, and you can find out more about this wonderful breed and its charming character on the RSBT web site.

LAMB
Our flock comprises native downland breeds. They are extensively reared outdoors and lamb is finished on grass. Our Sheep breeds comprise Dorset Down and Shropshires which are both also listed with the Rare Breed Survival Trust as at risk breeds.
